John Cena remains at the 2nd spot another week!
Last Weeks Rank: #2
This Weeks Rank: #2

"John Cena holds steady in the second spot this week after rising above both a car accident and The World’s Strongest Man on Monday. After a morning collision on Route 76 in Pennsylvania, Cena was shaken up but medically cleared to compete later that night. His opponent? Mark Henry, who dominated the Cenation Leader throughout much of the match."

"Undaunted, Cena fought his way back into the bout and displayed his own incredible strength as he hit the Attitude Adjustment on his enormous opponent. After the match, however, The Rock entered the ring and delivered a pointed message to Cena — with a Rock Bottom to Mark Henry, Rock may have one-upped Cena. But as the WWE Universe knows, the only one-upmanship that matters in this once-in-a-lifetime rivalry will come on April 1."

VIDEO: John Cena stopped by the Soscia Network at the Mix106.1 Studios in Philadelphia

WWE star John Cena appeared on The Mix 106.1 in Philadelphia, PA and talked about the possibility of WWE changing up the “spinner” championship belt:

“I’m the one that needs to be tied to the stake and burned as a witch. “I’m the one who ‘disgraced the WWE Championship.

“Side note, the WWE spinning championship is not only the most requested item from anyone who wants any merchandise from WWE, and that goes all the way up to Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers people, but it’s also the most sold championship of all time.”

Cena agrees it’s time for WWE to introduce a newly redesigned WWE Championship belt – and it’s not just because the spinner belt is ugly:

“I don’t know if it will go back to the winged eagle, but being the guy who truly invented it, it needs to change. It has been the way it’s been for years now. It’s had it’s run. It doesn’t even spin anymore. It’s heavy, it’s awkward. It really is.

“An average championship belt weighs about 12 pounds. The current WWE spinning championship weighs about 27 pounds. So we need a rehash. I’m proactively trying to do that. I only have so much stroke, guys. I can’t do everything.”

John Cena def. Mark Henry; The Rock assaulted Henry

Mark Henry showed no mercy against John Cena, battering the leader of Cenation inside and out of the ring. Cena, however, would not be overpowered, even as he fought The World's Strongest Man just hours after being involved in a car accident earlier Monday.
Cena kicked out of pin attempt following a World's Strongest Slam and bounced back to defeat Henry with a monster Attitude Adjustment.
After the match, the one-upmanship between Cena and The Rock continued as The Great One came out to lay out Henry with a Rock Bottom.
The two rivals engaged in a piercing staredown before Cena turned his eyed to the WrestleMania XXVIII logo hanging above the Wells Fargo Center.

WWE: John Cena in a car accident

WWE.com has learned that John Cena has been involved in a three-car accident in Philadelphia. The SUV the WWE Superstar was traveling in was reportedly rear ended by a Honda Civic, which had been rear ended by a tractor trailer.

“We were doing some early morning media for the event tonight in Philadelphia and we got in a car accident,” Cena told WWE.com. “The Civic was totaled, but no one was hurt, believe it or not.”

Although Cena claims to be 100 percent, the Superstar is still set to meet with WWE medical personnel today at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Cena was scheduled to face Mark Henry on tonight’s Raw SuperShow – a match, which according to Cena, will go on as planned.

“I’ve been in plenty of car wrecks before,” the former WWE Champion said. “I’m in one piece and I can still do battle with The World’s Strongest Man tonight.”

Cena is “a little shaken up,” WWE physician Dr. Michael Sampson told WWE.com.

"They were whiplash-type injuries that he sustained,” Sampson said. “He feels good today, but then a couple days later, that's when you get the neck stiffness and the pain. He is cleared to compete tonight. We're going to let him go, but we're definitely going to keep an eye on him. We're going to check him right before his match one more time, just to make sure he's okay."

According to Cena’s driver, Jules Anderson, the accident occurred around 11:30 a.m., when Cena’s vehicle was traveling eastbound on Rt. 76. The SUV sustained damage in the rear, according to Anderson, who added that Cena was on a phone meeting at the time of the collision

The Cenation Commander in Chief’s celebrity may have helped calm the waters between the other drivers, who were arguing after the incident. According to Anderson, once he informed the other drivers that his passenger was the former 12-time World Champion, tempers cooled.

In less than two weeks, Cena will face The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII in the most anticipated bout in WWE history. The effect this accident will have on the Cenation leader remains to be seen. WWE.com will stay with this story as it develops.

WWE: Can Cena handle the pressure?

WWE: Can Cena handle the pressure?
John Cena has competed in countless matches under the bright lights of the main event, but that does not mean he always flourishes under their harsh glow. Although his in-ring effort and out-of-ring commercial appeal have never been in question, Cena’s history of getting the job done in crunch time is uneven.

As The Cenation Commander in Chief prepares for the biggest match of his career – a once-in-a-lifetime bout against The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII – WWE.com looks back at his track record in high-pressure matchups – headliners and otherwise.

From his war of attrition with Booker T, to his many trips into enemy territory (ECW and the Hammerstein Ballroom, anybody?), to his main event clashes on The Grandest Stage of Them All, Cena has spent plenty of time in the pressure cooker.

Since day one, Cena has yet to shy away from pressure. His WWE television debut came when he answered an open challenge from former WWE Champion Kurt Angle in June 2002. Cena lost the match, but nonetheless achieved a moral victory, proving to be stiff competition for the much more experienced Angle. Moreover, the bout instantly underscored Cena’s big-game moxie.

Less than two years later, Cena was inside the hallowed confines of Madison Square Garden, competing for the United States Championship against Big Show at WrestleMania XX. Taken together, the elements – championship glory, a giant foe, The Show of Shows and the Mecca – would be enough to fill even the most confident youngsters with deer-in-headlights trepidation. Cena was not fazed, however, and he won his first singles title that night.

Cena further proved his mettle when he outlasted Booker T in a best-of-five series in 2004 to begin his second U.S. Title reign. Few situations can rival the intensity and mental strain of a heated series between a hungry up-and-comer and an established Superstar. Yet, in an ultimate passing-of-the-torch moment, Cena overcame Booker T, putting to rest any doubts about Cena’s formidability.
The Cena bandwagon has seemingly picked up passengers on The Road to WrestleMania, but his reception at the destination – The Rock’s hometown of Miami – is still expected to be icy on April 1. The dynamic will be nothing new for the fearless Cena, who has never backed away from battling in enemy territory.

Cena vied for Eddie Guerrero’s U.S. Championship in an August 2003 SmackDown match held in Guerrero’s home of El Paso, Texas. A practicing “Doctor of Thuganomics” at the time, the young and cocky Cena crumbled under the immense pressure of being the “away team,” and he resorted to low-blowing Guerrero, for the disqualification. Was the gaffe caused by inexperience or inability?

The Cenation Commander in Chief walked into a danger zone in June 2006, when he put up his WWE Championship against Rob Van Dam at ECW’s One Night Stand pay-per-view. The match went down before a small but passionate crowd of ECW diehards in New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom – a longtime haunt for the brand. Faced with raucous anti-Cena sentiment, Cena couldn’t even throw his shirt into the audience without pushback. (They threw the shirt back, repeatedly.)

While on hostile ground, Cena fought valiantly but came up short, due to interference by WWE Hall of Fame 2012 inductee Edge.

Cena again marched defiantly into an opponent’s backyard at WWE’s Money in the Bank 2011, when he put his WWE Championship on the line against CM Punk. Held in Rosemont, Ill. – a stone’s throw from Punk’s home turf of Chicago – the bout ended Cena’s eighth WWE Title reign, to the delight of the pro-Punk contingent.

Twice is a coincidence, but three times is a trend in the making. Will Cena’s misfortune continue in The Rock’s hometown?
Although WWE officials have not officially announced the order of matches at WrestleMania XXVIII, Cena vs. The Rock is heavily expected to be the main event. For Cena, the match will represent a fourth time topping the bill of The Showcase of the Immortals, which is far and away the most pressure-filled event of the year for the WWE Universe.

Cena stands 2-1 in his WrestleMania main events, beating Triple H at WrestleMania 22 and toppling “Mr. WrestleMania” Shawn Michaels the following year at WrestleMania 23. However, his most recent trip to the top – last year’s WWE Championship Match against The Miz – was anything but successful. (Of course, The Rock played more than a minor role in Cena’s loss, as the WWE Universeremembers well.)

Even though his win-loss record suggests that he is a less than clutch performer, Cena has never backed away from high-pressure situations. From answering a former champion’s open challenge on his first day to taking down Mr. WrestleMania in The Show of Shows’ main event, Cena has always demonstrated stalwart tenacity.

When all the ingredients of a high-pressure match coalesce April 1, Cena will no doubt give his all. Whether that effort will translate into success is an entirely different discussion.
